Jiko - The Cooking Place, is an upscale restaurant at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge. It features African style cooking with a unique blend of multi-cultural influences from the Mediterranean coast, India and Europe. Savor seafood, steak, chicken and vegetarian choices infused with the vibrant spices and flavours of Africa. The food reflects the varied cultures of Africa. Duck, lamb and chicken are just a few of Jiko's wonderful treats. Jiko also features wines of South African vintage.
An open kitchen includes twin wood-burning stoves surrounded by a 187-seat dining room. The private Cape Town Wine Room seats up to 40 guests and contains a collection of wine-based sculptures.
The restaurant's design depicts the ambiance of an African lodge with a beautiful earthy colour palette, with a wonderful ceiling and overlooking a small pond.
Boma is Swahili and several other African languages, meaning an enclosure. The 270-seat restaurant is designed to resemble an open African marketplace.
